Meaning: Place a copper sheet inside a clean earthen pot and add copper sulphate, a substance resembling a peacock's neck into it. Then pour the contents of a wet wooden spoon into that vessel. After this, add zinc and mercury on top and by connecting the wire in this way, electricity will come out.

 

Maharshi Agastya's technology for producing electricity is similar to the present-day battery cell found in the Agastya Samhita (Formula of Electric Battery).

 

The Agastya Samhita also describes how Maharshi Agastya used electricity for electroplating. Maharshi Agastya explained the method of polishing silver, gold and copper using batteries. That is why Maharshi Agastya is also called Kumbhodbhav(Battery Bone).
